The deputies of the Democratic Party of Kosovo have officially called on the chairman of the constitutive session, Avni Dehari, to continue the session on August 20 (Thursday).
The PDK letter states that this is Dehar's constitutional and procedural obligation as chairman.
"The failure to constitute the Assembly within the established deadline has already created a serious situation of violation of the Constitution and non-compliance with the judgments of the Constitutional Court. Non-compliance with the deadlines and procedures set out in the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly only further deepens this situation," the letter submitted by the PDK deputies states.
This request by the PDK is being repeated continuously. The MPs of this entity are protesting in front of the Government every morning and are going to the Assembly hall every two days with the request to continue the constitutive session.
On two occasions, MPs have been invited to participate in this session. In both cases, Vetëvendosje leader Albin Kurti requested more time for negotiations on a political agreement, arguing that if no agreement is reached on the post of president, elections will inevitably be held, even if the Assembly is constituted and the Government is formed.

However, the constitutional deadline of 30 days for constitution after the certification of the results has already passed. Since the last extension, that of Saturday, August 8, Dehari has not called for a continuation of the constitutive session. He supported Kurti's position, saying that without an agreement, the sessions "are barren."
Meanwhile, the PDK and the Alliance have refused any meeting with Kurti. He has held meetings with the Democratic League of Kosovo. A day earlier, Kurti also met with the leader of the LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku, to discuss the issue of the president.
