Citroën will launch a seven-seat SUV as a successor to the small C3 Aircross, the company's chief executive, Thierry Koskas, has confirmed.
The car will be built on the "Smart Car" platform launched in Europe this week through the new all-electric e-C3 model.
The new Citroën will be the only small SUV with seven seats in Europe. This model however is already in the Indian market.
Koskas said that the plan is for the car to have a 2+3+2 seating system.
The first generation of the C3 Aircross was launched in 2017 as part of the collaboration between the PSA Group and General Motors.
The C3 Aircross is not even among the top ten best-selling cars in Europe in the SUV market.
