Manchester City will be without the main player, Rodri, until the end of the season.
Coach Pep Guardiola confirmed this at the press conference on Friday. The Spanish midfielder was injured last weekend in the match against Arsenal.
Rodri underwent knee surgery on Friday morning and will not play again in the 2024/2025 season. Rodri has injured his ligaments and menisci.
"He underwent surgery this morning. It's about the ACL and some menisci, so the next edition will be here. This season is over. We received the worst possible news, but it is what it is. Sometimes, unfortunately, it happens. We are here to support him. Good recovery, step by step and we move forward", said Guardiola.
According to him, the other players, all together, can replace what Rodri has provided for the team since he joined City.
