The 16 percent increase in the price of electricity has led to the beginning of an increase in food prices.
In addition to the increase in the price of bread in some countries, there are also warnings of an increase in the price of essential products.
But this decision by ERO seems to have mostly affected businesses in Pristina, and precisely the most favorite product of citizens, coffee.
The price of coffee in Pristina has increased immediately in some cafes since the beginning of May, reaching up to 2 euros.
Meanwhile, in other cities in Kosovo, there are gastronomy businesses that are in no hurry to raise prices.

Some basic products became more expensive by double-digit percentages
In Gjilan, you can drink a coffee for 70 cents. In Ferizaj, even for 1.20 cents.
In Lipjan, a coffee costs 1 euro.
In Mitrovica, coffee costs from 70 cents to 1.20 euros, while in the north, a cup of coffee can be had for 50 cents.
Petrit Kllokoqi from the Gastronomes Association says that gastronomes are not the ones who make products more expensive, but gastronomy makes products more expensive.
"All products have become more expensive. It is not that we as gastronomes have increased the prices of our products. All products have become more expensive. For us, the price of buying coffee has increased by about 30 percent in this case, but at the same time, the consumer's basket has become more expensive by up to 37 percent, and that is because our supplies have increased by about 37 percent. We have doubled the salaries of our staff, we have increased the price of electricity, and everything else that gastronomes have brought to this. Let's be clear that gastronomes do not increase the prices of their products. Gastronomes' products become more expensive," he said.
According to him, no joint decision has been made to increase the price of coffee, but some bars have increased prices individually.
"This was not discussed in a group of gastronomes. This is a decision that has made some cafes more expensive on their own. In some places, it has become more expensive, but the increase in coffee has become greater than the normal increase in the price of all products," Kllokoqi declared.
The increase in food products, but also coffee, has directly impacted citizens' pockets.

Even before the electricity price increase takes effect, citizens are starting to feel the consequences
This is felt most among retirees, who say they are used to meeting with friends more often in cafes to pass the time, while now they have to do so less often.
The electricity price hike was opposed with protests organized by the group "Not a Cent More" who warned that this increase would also lead to an increase in the price of essential food products.
