FFK demands that the "Fadil Vokrri" stadium be declared "national interest"

The major damage to the field at the "Fadil Vokrri" stadium in Pristina has raised concerns in the Football Federation of Kosovo that this stadium may lose its UEFA license.

The "Fadil Vokrri" stadium is the only one in Kosovo that meets the criteria to host international matches.

The Football Federation of Kosovo (FFK) admits that the field is badly damaged and has asked the Government to declare the "Fadil Vokrri" stadium an object of special importance and national interest.

"The complete renovation of this stadium was done with the participation of the Ministry of Sports, the Municipality of Pristina and the FFK, but its maintenance has been done for several years now only by the FFK. This is not at all easy, considering the fact that for a year the maintenance costs about 170 thousand euros, while the number of activities is unaffordable for this stadium. In order to preserve this plant, I propose and ask the Government to declare it with a special decision as an object of national interest, as it has done with some other objects. Otherwise, this stadium will be degraded", said chairman Agim Ademi for the official website of FFK.

He has proposed that priority should be given to the representatives of Kosovo to hold the matches, where he says that there are eight representative teams that conduct activities in this stadium.

"The Federation is ready to cooperate with the Government to start the reconstruction project of the 'Fadil Vokrri' stadium, which would be the same as in Albania and in some other countries with a concession or in any other form, which our mechanisms choose governmental. The goal is to make this stadium even more modern, both in terms of sports and commercial aspects. For this project, of course, I expect the will and commitment of all parties, the Government and the Municipality, to together with the Federation enable our state to make a stadium, which would be competitive to host any major UEFA event. -s", added Ademi.

He has asked the central and local level institutions to speed up the works in the stadiums of the cities, as well as he has asked the municipalities to extend the permits for the use of the stadiums to the clubs in the maximum term.

The stadium of Pristina is used by the representatives of Kosovo in both competitions, both in seniors and in young age groups. Prishtina, Balkani, Drita, Gjilani and Llapi have played at the club level. Many more matches are expected to be played.
