Silva remains at City

Bernardo Silva

Bernardo Silva has confirmed that he will stay at Manchester City for another season, and will become the team's new captain.

The Portuguese midfielder has entered the final year of his contract with the club where he spent eight seasons.

Al Hilal was among the teams interested in Silva, but the 30-year-old has rejected any offers in his direction.

"This season I will be at Manchester City. I will stay. I have had several options in the past and this year, but, just like last year, this year my option has been to stay here," Silva declared, writes "Sky Sports".

Silva joined City from Monaco in 2017 for €50 million.

In the season that just ended, he scored five goals and had four assists in 49 appearances.
