Chelsea has signed Netherlands international Jorrel Hato from Ajax. The deal was finalized on Sunday.
The 19-year-old defender has signed a contract valid until 2032 with the London club.
"I'm very excited, very happy to be here," Hato said.
"I've thought a lot about the future and I wanted to take the next step in my career. Chelsea is the best place for me to do that and I'm very happy," the Rotterdam-born footballer said.
He has been a part of Ajax's academy since 2018. Chelsea paid £35,5m, excluding bonuses, for the Dutch defender. He is Chelsea's eighth signing of the summer.
Chelsea have already spent £250 million on new players.
