The Russian energy giant Gazprom announced on Saturday that it has suspended the supply of gas to neighboring Latvia due to the violation of the conditions for obtaining this energy source, writes the BBC.
Russia earlier cut off gas supplies to Poland, Bulgaria, Finland, the Netherlands and Denmark because they refused to pay under new regulations based on President Vladimir Putin's decree requiring countries to open accounts in a Russian bank and pay into rubles.
Russia has also banned gas sales to Shell Energy in Germany.
Gazprom's announcement did not specify which conditions Latvia violated.
