Apart from Denmark, Russia also stopped supplying gas to Germany and the Netherlands

Russia has expanded sanctions on gas supplies from Gazprom to Europe, saying it will cut off supplies to some unfriendly countries that have refused to accept the ruble payment scheme for Russian gas.

In addition to Denmark, state energy company Gazprom will also cut gas supplies to the Netherlands and Germany, Reuters reported on Tuesday.

Gazprom announced on Tuesday that it has completely cut off gas supplies to Dutch gas trader GasTerra.

Later, this company said that from June 1, in addition to Denmark's Orsted, it will also stop supplying Shell Energy in Germany.

The announcements follow Monday's agreement by European Union leaders to cut the European Union's imports of Russian oil by 90 percent by the end of the year.
