Kryebashkiaku i Tiranës, Erion Veliaj, është transferuar në paraburgimin e Fierit, pas një vendimi të marrë nga Drejtoria e Përgjithshme e Burgjeve.
Veliaj, i cili prej shkurtit të vitit 2025 qëndronte në paraburgimin e Durrësit pas arrestimit në kuadër të hetimeve të SPAK-ut, tashmë do të mbahet në institucionin e vuajtjes së dënimit në Fier, raportoi "A2 CNN".
Sipas informacioneve vendimi për transferimin është marrë nga autoritetet e Burgjeve dhe nuk ka ardhur si rezultat i një kërkese nga vetë kryebashkiaku.
Veliaj e konsideron transferim politik zhvendosjen e tij nga paraburgimi i Durrësit në atë të Fierit.
Përmes një reagimi në rrjetet sociale ai thekson se kemi të bëjmë me një rrëmbim policor që i cënon rëndë të drejtat.
Veliaj i kërkon Ministrit të Drejtësisë, Avokatit të Popullit dhe Komitetit Shqiptar të Helsinkit të ndërhyjnë urgjentisht, të verifikojnë arsyet dhe shkaqet e këtij transferimi, që sipas tij është politik.

Today, a group of Prison Police officers, sent by the General Directorate of Prisons, appeared at the Durrës Penitentiary Institution to transfer me to Fier prison.
Despite repeated requests, both from myself and my lawyer, to be familiar with the act ordering the transfer and the reasons justifying it, we have been refused access to this document.
A forced transfer, without informing me of the act and the legal reasons on which it is based, for me constitutes a police kidnapping and seriously violates my rights.
I did not consent to this transfer and I objected to the way it is being carried out, without transparency and without enabling me to effectively exercise my legal rights.
I publicly ask the Minister of Justice, the Ombudsman and the Albanian Helsinki Committee to urgently intervene and verify the reasons and causes of this political transfer.
