Shabani announces a strike of former workers of the Pipe Factory in Ferizaj

Member of the Union of former workers of the Ferizaj pipe factory, Ali Shabani

The member of the Union of former workers of the Ferizaj Pipe Factory, Ali Shabani, has spoken about the non-implementation of the judgment of the Constitutional Court for "IMK Çeliku".

He said in KTV's Interactive that in January 2022 it will be 20 years since the decision of the violent body that expelled the workers from the factory was annulled.

Shabani said that even now they are waiting for the execution of the same law.

He said that they will go on strike and will not leave without any results.

"All political parties, including the Vetëvendosje Movement, have promised to execute this decision, they have received votes from these workers, over 900 of them, and they have done nothing. The case of the pipe factory is 'sui generis' as the case of Kosovo's declaration of independence. No factory has the same case as this factory. The judgment of the Municipal Court recognizes two rights, such as the right to salary and work experience", he said.

According to him, this decision should only be executed.

He said that four hearings were held regarding this issue, adding that one of them was called by the Vetëvendosje Movement itself.

Shabani said that they had contact with MPs of the Vetëvendosje Movement and the head of the GP of the VV, Mimoza Kusari-Lila.

"We request a meeting with the Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, and this is the last time. Of the 912 workers, about 600 have died. The Constitutional Court had three opportunities to decide, to accept the request in full, partially accept it and reject it, but it has accepted it and obliged the Government and the AKP to execute this decision", he said.

Shabani said that with the departure of Russia from the Council of Europe, real opportunities have been created for Kosovo to join.

He said that he has met lawyers who have won cases at the Strasbourg Court and when he showed them the documents, they told him that every lawyer who takes this case is guaranteed to win the case.

He says that they had agreed with the former Prime Minister Haradinaj to give up the 3 percent, but again nothing was done in this regard.
