Rama accuses VV of political 'show': It should also deal with the development of the capital

Kryetari i Prishtinës, Përparim Rama, i ka bërë thirrje opozitës në kryeqytet (Lëvizjes Vetëvendosje v.j.) që, në vend të asaj që e cilësoi si “show politik”, të angazhohet në zhvillimin e qytetit dhe të kontribuojë me propozime për projektet e komunës.

Rama said that the opposition has the right to send files to the Prosecutor's Office on issues it considers problematic, but added that his and the cabinet's responsibility is the development of the capital. He said that the Municipality is open to investigations and that there is no reason for the opposition to deal only with what he called "useless things."

"The opposition's job is to do this (sending files to the Prosecutor's Office), our job is to develop the capital. However, I have invited the opposition to also deal with development, not only with useless things, because we ourselves are open to investigations. The opposition does not need to put on a political 'show' like it does every day, but to join us in developing the capital. We have a lot of work to do and we are open to their proposals," Rama declared on Thursday.

He requested that the Prosecution not be influenced by politics and examine whether municipal processes have been conducted in accordance with the law. Rama said that he had previously invited the Prosecution to investigate every public procurement process and procedure.

The Mayor of Pristina reiterated that the central level has attempted to illegally block municipal projects, saying that as a result, two years have been lost that, according to him, could have been used for the benefit of citizens.

On October 30, Rama was interviewed by the Special Prosecution Office as a suspect for corruption in the "City Architect" project. 

And on November 3, the opposition Vetëvendosje Movement sent a contract from the Municipality of Pristina for public lighting to the Prosecutor's Office, claiming that the budget was misused.
