Acting Minister of Justice, Abelard Tahiri, asks the political parties to support the initiative of the chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli, and to sign the "Anti-Corruption Pact", it is announced through a press release.

According to Tahir, the fight against corruption and abuse of power is not fought only by the justice bodies, but also by preventing the abusive culture and abolishing the actors of corruption.

"The initiative of the chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli, presented yesterday as the 'Anti-Corruption Pact', marks a new momentum against corruption, nepotism and abuse. As such, this Pact is in line with the spirit of the legal changes that I have undertaken in the two years of my mandate as Minister of Justice and in the spirit of decriminalization of the political sphere, a necessary issue to ensure an efficient, responsible and accountable government ", says Tahiri.

He adds that such an effort should be an example of politics and a permanent standard among the political entities participating in the October elections, as well as a standard that should be valid in every subsequent period.

"It is vital that our citizens have the opportunity to choose for representation, candidates with integrity, who are not suspected of corruption and misuse of power and who do not seriously conflict with the law. On this occasion, I invite all political parties to follow Vesel's example and sign the 'Anti-Corruption Pact', as an expression of determination and readiness to build a new political spirit against corruption, against the abuse of power and the causes that enable misuse", said Tahiri.
