Brayan Ibanez was scheduled to compete for Kosovo on Monday at the World Weightlifting Championships being held in China.
But due to illness, the 20-year-old did not compete. Ibanez himself announced this on social media. He was supposed to compete in the 85-kilogram category.
Gold was won by Abdelrahman Younes of Egypt, who set a world record with a total of 390 kilograms.
Emily Ibanez competes on Tuesday, while Kianoush Rostami competes on Wednesday. All three are naturalized.
