Siparantum

"On April 26 - 29, 2024, the Siparantum Choir will represent Kosovo in this great competition, where it will compete in the 'G' category in front of 93 choirs from 19 different countries. Our choir will present a rich repertoire of works by famous authors", it is written in the communique of the "Siparantum" choir.

The positive results of the "Siparantum" choir in the competitions it participates in, as well as the dignified appearance in the stages it performs, are always expected. Now he returns to the same address where two years ago he won in both categories where he competed - at the European Youth Music Festival held in Belgium. In one category of the prestigious festival, it still aims for triumph among 93 choral groups from 19 different countries.

"On April 26 - 29, 2024, the Siparantum Choir will represent Kosovo in this great competition, where it will compete in the 'G' category in front of 93 choirs from 19 different countries. Our choir will present a rich repertoire of works by prominent authors", it is written in the communique of the "Siparantum" choir.
The program with which Kori from Peja is presented in the city of Neerpelt in Belgium is also announced there. The work "Me nji lule" by Memli Kelmendi and "Pakëz ne dërne, pëkëz ne žgëndër" by Baki Jashari send Albanian music to the city located in the province of Limburg in Belgium.

"Ten a Solbici" by Samo Vovk, "Atsalums" by Jēkabs Jančevskis and "En's Avonds" arranged by Memli Kelmendi will be part of the repertoire with which the "Siparantum" choir will take the stage on the afternoon of April 27. The choir will be led by conductor and composer Memli Kelmendi.

"The importance of returning to the festival in Belgium for Kosovo is more than just an artistic challenge. It is an expression of our will and talent to show the world what we can achieve. After the success of 2022, when Kosovo became victorious in both categories 'G' and 'F', our return to this festival is a chance to illuminate the dreams and aspirations of a nation that has experienced a lot, but that continues to rise beyond the challenges", said conductor Memli Kelmendi. According to him, for Kori this is not just a competition, but an opportunity to show pride in cultural and musical heritage.

"With a young group, but with a big heart, we are prepared to shine again on the European stage. Throughout these months we have worked with spirit, energy and dedication, hoping that this journey will send us to new success and reinforce our image as a talented nation dedicated to art. I am deeply convinced of the next success", he said.
In 2022 "Siparantum" had won two awards in both categories which it had competed in at the European Music Festival for Young People. The first place in categories "F" and "G" went to the choir "Siparantum" directed by Memli Kelmendi.

The Choir's repertoire for participation in the "European Music Festival for Young People" contained stylistic works from different periods, from the Renaissance, Albanian music to contemporary music. It was held from April 29 to May 2 and 50 crores from different countries of the world had participated.

The "Siparantum" choir has scored successes in the highest level of the choir competition with two victories in the "World Choir Games" in July of last year that were held in South Korea. The choir from Peja had represented the country in the biggest competition of its kind with two appearances in the "Musica Contemporanea" and "Mixed Choir" categories in the 12th edition of the World Choir Games.
As a result of the lack of financial means, "Siparantum" was forced to go to South Korea without almost half of the members. This did not carry weight for "Siparantum".
Only a few months after the triumph in the world games, at the end of October he won the fifth edition of the "European Games of the Koreas", where he competed for the Grand Prix of Nations in Norrköping, Sweden, together with 25 countries of the world. There, he had brought the public to their feet along with the jury, with works that gave voice to the story of Kosovo. It turned out golden.

"Siparantum" managed to take the first place in the festival where 22 choirs from 17 countries of the world participated. The festival is an activity that is part of the "World's Best Choirs Rankings of the Top 200 Choirs and Ensembles".

"Siparantum" has officially entered the ranking for the best choirs in the world, which includes a thousand choirs. It is ranked in the 30th position of the best vocal ensembles. In March 2021, he participated in the European Festival for Young People, with a tradition of seven decades, which also virtually brought together 100 choirs that year. And in November, in the biggest competition in the world of choral music that held its 11th edition in Ghent and Antwerp, Belgium, for the first time it placed the name of Kosovo in what is considered the Olympics of choral music. He returned home with a prize. Received the medal as the best Choir in the category dedicated to contemporary music.
