The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has reacted after the death of the well-known Kosovar instrumentalist Shaqir Hoti, saying that his horse rested but his sounds will echo between generations.
Osmani, through a status on Facebook, said that Hoti will always be remembered as the man who wanted, preserved and cultivated the Albanian tradition.
"The instruments of our original music: the ocarina, the fiddle and the kavalli, remained without the great master Shaqir Hoti. Baca Shaqë passed into eternity leaving behind a prosperous legacy of his masterful work in preserving the tradition of making wind instruments, but also cultivating our source music. Baca Shaqë's horse rested, but its sounds will echo through the generations. He will always be remembered as the man who loved, preserved and cultivated our tradition with devotion until his last breath! May the memory of the master of instruments - Baca Shaqë be permanent!", Osmani wrote.
