"Monoakt" revives the stage of the theater "Istref Begolli"

It has been several months that no theater project has been presented on the stage of the "Istref Begolli" theater in Peja.

The twelfth edition of the "Monoakt" monodrama festival has reactivated the stage of this theater for five nights, reports KOHA.

In a modest organization and without fanfare due to the pandemic, monodramas were presented, which were shown to a limited number of audiences.

The organizers of "Monoakt" are happy that they managed to hold the festival and open the doors of the theater, which bears the name of the icon of Albanian performing arts.

The twelfth year of the organization of "Monoakti" ended on Tuesday with the distribution of awards.

"The last hour of Njegosh's life", under the interpretation of the actor from Montenegro, Slobodan Tomovic, received the main prize.

The monodrama produced by the Malaysian theater has so far been staged in thirty countries and deals with the philosophy of a priest who believes in spiritual immortality.
"I am pleased that I was present with my show at this festival that has a tradition of a decade. For me and for the national theater of Podgorica, it is an honor to be rewarded with this award, since the festival is of an international character and presents various performances on stage. As for the play, in 1988 the first premiere was given in the capital of Montenegro and since then in thirty-three years it has been played on 1500 stages in thirty countries. I am grateful to the organizers of the festival for inviting us to present our art in Peja, and compliments for the courage of holding the festival in times of pandemic", says Tomovic.
