Barcelona had a clear plan to keep talented striker Hamza Abdelkarim in the team.
And the reason why he hasn't had much playing time at the big Spanish team is unbelievable.
Abdelkarim was one of Barcelona's stars before the season, scoring four of the team's ten goals in pre-season matches.
The successful performances have made Abdelkarim a target for big European clubs. Barcelona officials, including coach Hansi Flick and sporting director Deco, have done everything to keep the 18-year-old in the squad, writes the media outlet "Sport".
Abdelkarim has a release clause of only 15 million euros and has not been involved much in the game to keep him "hidden" from big clubs, especially English ones.
Now the plan is to increase Abdelkarim's release clause to 150 million euros with the new contract.
The Egyptian striker has only played four minutes in La Liga this season.
