Trump covers the lie about the pandemic with a lie

The American president, Donald Trump, was asked directly on Thursday why he had lied to the Americans about the coronavirus pandemic.

His answer was short: "I didn't lie."

But this is also a lie.

Trump, in an interview for journalist Bob Woodward's book, had admitted that he downplayed the importance of the pandemic to avoid public panic.

In the interview that was used for the book "Rage", Trump had said that the coronavirus was more deadly than viruses, but a few weeks later he lied to the public when he said that the coronavirus was the common flu.

Trump once again wanted to reassure Americans on Thursday. No matter how malicious his intentions were, the inaccurate information he has provided is pure lies.

The president's comments about the virus in February are not the only lies about the deep crisis. In March and then at the end of July, Trump continued to say that the virus was under control, even though the facts showed otherwise.

The president denied all the allegations at a conference called on the pandemic, but began with a long speech and as an attack on the Democratic rival Joe Biden.

In a series of falsehoods, Trump accused Biden of launching an anti-vaccine campaign for the coronavirus.

The fact is that this attitude of Trump is a huge exaggeration. Biden has never expressed positions against the vaccine. He even said on Monday that he would rather listen to scientists about a vaccine for the coronavirus than hear any questionable data from the Trump administration.
