The American expert on pandemics, Anthony Fauci, has declared that he remains faithful to his prediction that a safe and efficient vaccine against the coronavirus will be ready in early 2021.
He told the American network CBS that at the end of the calendar year it will be known how far the vaccines have gone and that vaccination should only be started at the beginning of 2021.
Fauci has said it is common for vaccine trials to slow down during the late stages because of side effects.
AstraZeneca's research into a potential vaccine against the coronavirus has been halted for safety reasons, after one of the test subjects fell ill after the vaccine.
