Shiroka-Pula accepts Progress Report: EU membership remains strategic goal

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Justina Shiroka-Pula, has received the European Commission's Progress Report on Kosovo from the Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Kosovo, Dirk Schuebel. 

At this meeting, it is said that Shiroka-Pula emphasized that EU membership remains Kosovo's strategic goal.

The Presidency's announcement states that Shiroka-Pula emphasized the commitment of Kosovo's institutions to advancing reforms.

"She emphasized that Kosovo is a pro-European country and that membership in the European Union remains a strategic goal of the Republic of Kosovo and that the country's institutions are committed to advancing reforms, strengthening the rule of law, the democratic functioning of institutions and meeting European standards," the Presidency's announcement states.

Ambassador Schuebel is said to have congratulated President Shiroka-Pula “for her constructive approach and efforts to contribute to the spirit of cooperation and unity in the political scene of Kosovo.”

Meanwhile, the president is said to have appreciated the European Union's support for Kosovo and emphasized the importance of partnership with the EU in advancing the country's European agenda.
