Kryeprokurorja e Prokurorisë së Pejës Lumturije Vuçetaj, prokurorja e rastit të Arlinda Zekajt, e cila u vra më 25 tetor, Arlinda Nallbani Gacaferri dhe 11 zyrtarë policorë janë suspenduar nga detyra të enjten, katër ditë pasi ndodhi vrasja.
Por në protestat e organizuara pas vrasjes së Zekajt, që kanë vazhduar për ditën e dytë me radhë, është kërkuar shkarkimi e ndjekja penale e personave të përfshirë në rast në Prokurori, Gjykatë e Polici, e dorëheqja e ministrit të Brendshëm Xhelal Sveçla, ministres së Drejtësisë, Donika Gërvalla e kryetarit të Pejës Gazmend Muhaxheri.
Njëra prej organizatoreve të protestave, Anitë Nikaj, në fjalimin e mbajtur në protestë i ka përmendur kërkesat drejtuar Qeverisë.
“Kërkesat tona janë të qarta, s’duam suspendime, duam shkarkime, burgosje e ndjekje penale”, ka theksuar ajo.
Ndërkohë Zyra e Kryeministrit nuk u është përgjigjur kërkesave të protestuesve, por ka njoftuar se ka pranuar raportet nga Ministria e Drejtësisë dhe ajo e Punëve të Brendshme për rastin e Arlinda Zekajt.
According to the announcement, together with the relevant ministers, the report will be subject to review and analysis for any omissions, negligence and institutional responsibility.
"Together with the relevant ministers, a detailed review and analysis will be carried out, regarding the history and course of the case, each omission and irresponsible treatment, negligence and inaction, as well as everything related to the procedure and institutional responsibility," the announcement states.
Për këtë dhe veprimet e mëtejme është paralajmëruar konferencë për shtyp nesër nga ora 09:00 nga ministrja e Drejtësisë, Donika Gërvalla dhe ministri i Brendshëm, Xhelal Sveçla – ministrave, të cilëve po u kërkohet dorëheqja nga protestuesit qe dy ditë.
E në Kuvendin e Kosovës në seancën e mbajtur të enjten me 90 vota për, ka themeluar Komisionin hetimor parlamentar për veprimet dhe mosveprimet e institucioneve lidhur me vrasjen e Arlinda Zekajt dhe trajtimin e dhunës ndaj fëmijëve dhe grave në familje.
Këshilli Prokurorial të enjten ka njoftuar se pas suspendimit ndaj Vuçetajt dhe Nallbani Gacaferrit, është hapur procedurë disiplonore dhe është themeluar panel hetimor për trajtimin e rastit.
Në anën tjetër Inspektorati Policor i Kosovës (IPK) ka konstatuar se Policia e Kosovës nuk e kishte dokumentuar ekzekutimin e urdhrit mbrojtës të 7 shtatorit për Arlinda Zekajn.
According to preliminary findings by the PIK, the second protection order, issued on October 16, was executed six days late, on October 22, after the intervention of the Inspectorate, which had previously received information from Zekaj himself.
The PIK also found that the police chain of command had not addressed an email from October 23, through which a police investigator had requested an assessment of the case and additional assistance. The investigator had recommended that, while Zekaj was at home, she be visited by police patrols and that more frequent communication be maintained with her, to assess the situation inside the house.
According to the PIK, there have been failures in handling domestic violence cases, assessing the level of risk and executing court decisions. The identified responsibilities include the Regional Police Directorate in Peja, the Police Station in Peja, the Sub-station in Vitomirica and the investigative units at the regional and station levels.
"The acting regional director of the DRP-Peja, the head of Regional Investigations at the DRP-Peja, the commander of the Police Station in Peja, the deputy commander of the Police Station in Peja, the head of the Investigations Sector at the Police Station in Peja, the acting head of the Operations Sector at the Police Station in Peja, the commander of the substation in Vitomirica and four police investigators at the Police Station in Peja have been suspended," the PIK statement said.
The PIK has announced that it will continue investigative and verification actions to examine the way the police handled the deceased's reports.
Zekaj u vra më 25 tetor dhe si i dyshuar për vrasje është arrestuar ish-kunati i saj, Albert Sylaj, Ndërkohë që ish-bashkëshorti i Zekajt, Jeton Sylaj, ditën e vrasjes ishte ndaluar nga organet e rendit pasi Zekaj e kishte denoncuar për mosrespektim të urdhrit mbrojtës.
Vetëm tri ditë para se të vritej Zekaj i kishte shkruar letër kryeprokurores së Pejës duke i treguar se jeta e saj po rrezikohej.
