The former president of Albania, Ilir Meta, congratulated Kosovo on the completion of the last step for visa liberalization.
According to him, the long isolation of Kosovo was discriminatory.
"An injustice ended. The European Parliament decided that visas should be liberalized for the citizens of Kosovo. It was undoubtedly discriminatory that the isolation of Kosovo continued for so long, however, I congratulate from the bottom of my heart every citizen and every institution of Kosovo for this great step towards European integration", he said in a post on Facebook.
According to him, the Balkan factors that want Europe outside the region have failed.
"Europe has always known how to appreciate pro-European governments, as happened with Albania when we achieved liberalization in 2009, as is happening today in Kosovo," he said further.
