The Chairperson of Alternativa, Mimoza Kusari, reacted after the President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, did not invite her to the meeting, as he did with the parliamentary parties.
She said that today the president showed that they cannot be unifying.
"Today I realized that the President of the country does not officially consider a woman Chairman of the Alternative party, former Deputy Prime Minister with the title as he had characterized the men presidents of the parties he had invited, with the titles of the positions they held earlier. If the President of the country considers himself and his role as a unifying factor for the country, then today, like many other times, he and his cabinet showed that they can be anything, just not unifying," she said.
Kusari said that "just like many other cases in Kosovo, this situation shows the hypocrisy of the rhetoric about the inclusion of women in political life by the President of the country".
"I don't know what could be their allusion to this non-invitation, but knowing that they always make sure to be 'covered with papers', I advise them to verify with the CEC, where I represent them. The alternative is the new party, still small, but the influence in certain cases may be too great for the changes in Kosovo. This post does not prejudge my participation or non-participation in the eventual invitation. This reaction aims to show the error of the cabinet and the President regarding the treatment of women in Kosovar politics", she wrote.
