Hyseni: Kurti in the dialogue caused one of the biggest diplomatic failures of Kosovo

The former national coordinator for the dialogue, Skënder Hyseni, has accused the Government of Kosovo and Prime Minister Albin Kurti of arrogant behavior and "no diplomatic sense" in Tuesday's meeting with Serbia in Brussels. According to him, Kurti "caused one of the biggest diplomatic failures of the Republic of Kosovo since the declaration of its independence".

On Tuesday, in the meeting with the Serbian president, Aleksandar Vučić, the Prime Minister of Kosovo stated that he has made four proposals. He said that he made a proposal for the trade agreement in South-Eastern Europe, that a peace agreement be signed immediately between the two states, that after recognition there should be bilateral reciprocity for minorities and for the issue of missing persons, and that the Serbian delegation of the people who were in office during the leadership of Serbia by Slobodan Milosevic are removed.

"Kurti managed to greatly weaken Kosovo's negotiating position in the continuation of the dialogue, which Albin Kurti will continue, whether he likes it or not. Kosovo in Brussels yesterday, did exactly what Vucic and Serbia preferred. Kurti expressed his desire to maintain the status quo. And nothing is more consistent with the long-term Serbian strategy and Serbian interests than keeping the Kosovo-Serbia conflict in suspension, in a frozen state, at the fault of Kosovo! This behavior of the current Prime Minister of Kosovo seriously damages the country's long-term interests. He showed yesterday that he does not have the will, courage or knowledge to protect the fundamental interests of the country. Today, there is no greater and more urgent interest for Kosovo than the conclusion of the conflict with Serbia with mutual recognition", Hyseni wrote on Facebook.

According to Hysen, Kurti's appearance in front of the cameras was as if "Kurti was addressing a VV rally somewhere in a village in Kosovo, making a populist and folk-patriotic monologue!"

"However, the good thing is that not everything, to say the least, depends on Kurti and Vuçiqi, who seem to have the same goal, procrastination and status-quo. The dialogue will continue, and I believe it will end soon", Hyseni continued.

Days ago, the Government of Kosovo, led by Albin Kurti, published a report that Hyseni, as coordinator at the time, had submitted to former Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti. According to the report, Hyseni said that in a meeting, the special emissary of the European Union for dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak, told him that the EU sees no other solution than mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia.
