The Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, received the Danish counterpart, Peter Hummelgaard, at the meeting. During the meeting, it was discussed about the importance of ratifying the Agreement between the Republic of Kosovo and the Kingdom of Denmark for the utilization of the prison premises in Gjilan.
"Since the month of July, due to the blocking of international agreements with non-voting, this agreement has remained unratified", it is stated in the statement of the MoD.
The announcement states that in the plenary session on February 15, the agreement is expected to be discussed and voted on by the deputies.
"On the other hand, Minister Haxhiu has informed Minister Hummelgaard that the Kosovo Correctional Service has already started the procedures for drawing up technical specifications for the adoption of residential spaces as well as the recruitment of additional staff. In the plenary session of February 15, the agreement will be discussed and voted on by the deputies", the announcement states.
