Fans will be allowed back into the stadium for club and national team matches, starting next week with representative matches, UEFA has confirmed.

Stadiums will be allowed to fill 30 percent of capacity, and will only reopen where local law allows.

Away fans will not be allowed at this stage of the COVID-19 pandemic, reports KOHA.

This decision was taken after testing in the European Super Cup between Bayern and Sevilla where 15 fans were allowed to be in the stadium.

This test has been described as successful despite the fact that the host city of Budapest had a record increase in the number of people affected by the coronavirus before this event took place.

UEFA has confirmed that social distancing will be mandatory, as well as the wearing of masks, according to the established rules of the country.
