Challandes is aware that it will be a difficult match against Sweden

The selector of the Kosovo representative, Bernard Challandes, said that the match with Sweden will be very difficult knowing the qualities of this team.

"Now we have to go to Sweden, and Sweden is a very strong team and a very difficult opponent. We have seen Sweden in "Euro 2020" where they caused problems for every opponent. It is an opponent who plays strong football and with physical play prevents the opponent from applying his game. But we have to prove ourselves in this match as well. We must also try to make the right moves when we have the ball. To try to put Sweden at risk and if we get into situations against Spain, to score. But, in general, a very difficult match awaits us against a strong opponent", he said.

The Swiss technician, however, was very satisfied with the three appearances in the September matches.

"Remember in September we started with a new slogan for changing the mentality, then we had three matches, I can say three good matches. The first was against Georgia, a difficult match but we proved that we had changed our mentality. We fought, worked together as a team and I think that was the starting point of changing the mentality. You know me, for me to fight, to run, to return, to play as a team is very important, both tactically and with possession of the ball. In the second match, against Greece, we mixed all these and in the end, the team deserved the draw. It was a game played with mentality and good football. And, the last game against Spain, maybe you don't agree, but for me it was the best game since I'm in charge of Kosovo. Because we played against the best team in the world and had a fantastic performance mixing all our qualities as a team. In a word, we played football, both tactically and defensively. We had scoring opportunities and defended very well. I watched the match several times and we are the team that had more chances to score than Spain and for me this is an indication that we played a very good match. But, unfortunately, we didn't manage to score a goal and that's why I feel depressed, especially for the footballers", added Challandes.

Challandes was also asked why he did not make any substitutions against Spain, saying that the choices were limited.

"For Spain, the attacking options were limited and I know that there have been criticisms and reactions. But, I was satisfied with what the players showed on the field and therefore I decided not to make any substitutions. Now with Sweden, we have more options than against Spain, as now we also have Domgjon that we have added. We'll see how things go. We will also always try to bring in new players, since now we have Domgjon. However, the door of the team is open to everyone, but no one can count on having his place secured until the end of his career, as the selections are made based on their form", he concluded.

Kosovo will play against Sweden on October 9, while three days later it hosts Georgia in "Fadil Vokrri".
