Ramë Lahaj: I owed Tirana, Albania, "For you, Homeland".

The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, hosted in a meeting the well-known tenor from Kosovo, Ramë Lahaj, who, with the recomposition of the song "Për ty atdhe", has brought a precious gift to the entire Albanian nation on this anniversary of Independence Albania. This November 29 found the mayor of Tirana, Veliaj, in a meeting with the lyrical singer who has performed on the world's biggest operatic stages. As a thank you for the reworking of the song "Për ty Atdhe", Veliaj presented Lahaj with the LP "Tirana - Tirona" made on the 100th anniversary of the Albanian capital, while the tenor expressed that he had a duty and a debt.

"To be very grateful! It's a fantastic, spiritual, equally inspiring gift. I thank you and I am sure that I speak on behalf of the mayors of Pristina and Prizren, because I believe that in times like these, we need encouragement, strength and optimism. It makes us very proud", said the mayor Erion Veliaj, as he presented him with the LP, a collaboration with the BBC, which includes the oldest and most beloved songs in a century.

"In cooperation with the BBC, we have collected some of the oldest songs of Tirana on a disc. Since you gave us a musical re-creation for Independence, we are also giving you a musical compilation for Tirana 100 years Capital of Albanians", said Veliaj.

Tenori Lahaj thanked the Mayor for his support and expressed that he felt the realization of this work as an obligation to Tirana and Albania, where he was professionally trained.

"It was very important for me to bring a positive message. Albania, Kosovo, but all Albanian lands, have a culture, a truly very special tradition. In addition, there is also the part of tourism, which has developed extremely in Tirana, and many other things that have happened in recent years. I owed a debt to Tirana and Albania because my talent emerged from Albania, Tirana, or rather, from the Academy of Arts, where I came and sought first aid. This is the least I can do", said Lahaj.

On Flag Day, Lahaj gave the public a unique version of the famous song "Për ty Atdhe" with music and lyrics by Pjetër Gac (1931 - 1995). Together with the song under the orchestration of Shpëtim Saraçi, the video clip that reflects Albanian values, culture and traditions has been launched. "I felt it was my duty, as Ambassador of Culture, to bring to the world the reworking of the masterpiece 'For you Homeland' by the great master, Pjetër Gaci, accompanied by a video that shows the good Albanian: The one who, after every success, the path of the first thing you get is the one for the Motherland. I wanted to draw our attention to the fact that we often forget that this country is the most beautiful and blessed in the world, with its natural beauty, unique culture and tradition.
For the sake of those who, generation after generation, sacrificed everything for this sacred land we call Motherland. For the wonderful youth we have, to be more unique and more dedicated than ever for the Nation and its future", Lahaj had written on social networks for the launch of the elaborated song congratulating November 28, "the great day of the liberation of the beautiful Flag".
