"Perfect reaction" follows the silhouettes in the play of light

The exhibition "Perfect Reaction" enters a kind of laboratory in search of itself, carried out by an artistic analysis that Fitim Haziri makes of the drawing technique as an art dimension. He uses it in unconventional ways with irregular shapes, plays with linear movements of the colored pencil, frames and geometric shapes that in some works are repeated and in others are exclusive. All these pencil movements that the artist has decided to bring to life in his works united in "Perfect Reaction", create the impression of a visualization of the author's own thought process.

The two floors of the spaces of the "House of Europe" in Pristina are reserved for his world. The foyer became the home of his paintings and prints, while the ground floor, with its exhibition space, has given way to what have been described as sculptures, which unfold as a metaphor for penetrating a deeper level of his artistic mind.

The element that is emphasized in all the works of the young artist is the play with the silhouettes of people that makes them integral parts of the works by giving them a discrete character, which allows the observer to interpret them according to his personal point of view.

In the five sculptures that stand as structures resembling interactive frames that exhibit drawings supported by the play of light, the author makes the public part of the exhibition not only as viewers, but also gives them the opportunity to "intervene" by moving the metal structures where are the drawings. This enables the manipulation of light and the unique design that is realized on the ceiling of the exhibition hall.

For the artist himself, this is a cycle of works which originated from a deep personal perspective towards the circumstantial aspects, and as such resulted in a special way of exposure.

"This cycle is the result of a year and a half's work, it is a cycle of drawings where I mainly worked with silhouettes, and I tried to bring out the idea of the inner instinct as a human silhouette and that's how we came to the name 'Reaction' perfect', since every reaction, every attempt to present a truth of the idea I had in mind, appeared perfectly, which I liked. A surreal way that made me feel good when the image was reflected."

The techniques Haziri uses neatly reflect his artistic identity. At first glance, his compositions give the impression of some works where the intervention is linear, but in fact there the artist creates a cacophony of movements that serve as a mirror of his mind. He narrates to the viewers a narrative which sends on a journey nuanced by surreal notes, overcoming reality, while contemplating his works. Until light remains as the main element that dictates the presentation of his drawings.

The artist himself sees his artistic identity as unconventional and unframed, working freely with different artistic dimensions.

"I am multidisciplinary in techniques, it is not that I am comfortable in just one technique. I try to experiment depending on the idea or topic. These last two years I have been more preoccupied with experimenting with fabric, print and playing with light".

"Human figures, depicted in different shapes and positions, appear as focal points, leaving an indelible energy perceived in shades of blue - a symbol of boundless freedom and infinite perspectives", it is written, among other things, in the curatorial concept of the curators of this exhibition, Laureta Hajrullahu and Shkamb Jaka.

They had started the collaboration with Hazir with the idea that this exhibition would contain old works made by him, alongside newly created ones.

"Since it is his first personal exhibition, we are preoccupied with the idea of how to capture all of Fitim's work in one exhibition. The idea of the exhibition was to frame some old works such as some paintings and graphics, while his sculptures and drawings in them are made by Fitimi, for this exhibition, linking them together with the previous works. Above all, his idea is to make the viewer a part without the visitor noticing, by means of light and shadow, the visitor himself becomes part of the exhibition".

For Jaka, the personal character that the artist assigns to his works has been a good incentive for them to resonate beyond the artist's personality through the curatorial concept.

"Fitim's work is very personal to him, he creates some silhouettes of people that are very personal to him. But the way Laureta and I worked in the presentation of his works was the idea of involving the public, giving it a collective aspect, since Fitimi places the public itself as part of the installation".

The world of the artist Fitim Haziri through his paintings, prints and drawings can be explored in the "House of Europe" until April 30.
