World Cup 2026

In Switzerland, they see advancing to the quarterfinals as a realistic objective.

Jashari - Xhaka

Director Pierluigi Tami believes that the Swiss national football team can achieve the minimum objective at the 2026 World Cup - the quarterfinals.

He said that Switzerland aims to appear at the World Cup with convincing football, as in the World Cup qualifiers that begin on June 11.

"I expect us to play the same convincing football as in the qualifiers, with quality, intensity and consistency. And we want to win all three games in the group stage," Tami said at a press conference on Monday.

Switzerland is in Group B with Qatar, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Canada. Switzerland last appeared in the quarterfinals in 1954.

"We are ready for a long journey," he says. The Helvetics are led by captain Granit Xhaka.

Milan midfielder Ardon Jashari has also been invited to Switzerland.
