The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has warned of "nuclear terror", at a time when Russian threats against nuclear facilities have increased.

In an interview with "Good Morning America", Zelensky also talks about recent reports that Russia has used Chinese satellites and photographed details of nuclear facilities, The Guardian reports.

"In our experience, if Russia photographs a certain object, then there is a threat to strike nuclear facilities. This is nuclear terror. We share such things with many leaders who can influence Russia and influence Putin," Zelensky stated.

He did not say whether the Chinese satellites used by Russia were commercial or controlled by the Chinese government.

In a post on X on Saturday, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha wrote that "according to Ukrainian intelligence, the Kremlin is preparing attacks on critical Ukrainian nuclear power facilities before winter."

"Attacks would focus on transmission substations and other open distribution equipment at nuclear stations," he wrote.

Beijing has said China's position on Ukraine is to "promote peace talks and political settlement" and that it does not provide direct military aid to Russia.
