Ukraine's defense minister is firing three of his deputies in a ministry reshuffle as Kiev tries to fend off Moscow's two-and-a-half-year occupation, he said on Tuesday.
Rustem Umerov has said in a new post on social networks that he has asked the Government to dismiss Stanilsav Haider, Oleksandr Serhiy and Yuriy Dzhygyr from their duties as Deputy Ministers of Defense and Liudmyla Darahan as Secretary of the Ministry, reports Reuters.
"I have decided to complete the process of cleaning the procurement system in close cooperation with law enforcement bodies and anti-corruption authorities," said Umerov.
New appointments will be announced soon.
Ukrainian officials have sought to streamline bureaucracy and curb corruption amid a full-scale occupation by Russia.
