On Monday (January 6), it has been five months since Ukrainian troops entered the Russian region of Kursk, where frontal fighting is said to be ongoing. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, said on the X social network that during the special operation in this region, Russia lost over 38.000 soldiers.
He said that "special actions" are continuing.

"The Russians have deployed their strongest units to Kursk, including soldiers from North Korea. The most important thing is that this "manpower cannot be redirected to other fronts - neither in the Donetsk region, nor against Sumy, Kharkiv region or Zaporizhzhia", says Zelensky's reaction.
The Ukrainian president thanked the soldiers "who are bringing the war home, to Russia".
"Today marks exactly five months since the beginning of our actions in the Kursk region, and we continue to maintain a buffer zone on Russian territory, actively destroying their military potential," he emphasized.
