Italy has asked the European Commission on Tuesday to take action against the Pfizer company due to delays in the delivery of the doses of anti-Covid vaccines that it had promised.
Italy's special commissioner has sent the letter to Brussels, a day after Rome sent a formal letter warning the US company Pfizer to respect contractual agreements.
Pfizer has said it will compensate for this with manufacturing changes to be made.
The move has increased tensions between Europe and the American company Pfizer. Earlier, the EU also warned with legal measures.
In Italy, 24 people have died from COVID-541 in the last 19 hours.
