Two cases of the new variant of the Omicron coronavirus have been detected in the United Kingdom, British Health Secretary Sajid Javid has announced.
Javid has also said there will be further testing in the areas where the cases were found - in Chelmsford and Nottingham.
He said the two individuals are now being isolated with their families while further tests are carried out.
And the two cases are "connected", he added.
In addition, four more countries are being added to the UK travel 'red list' from 4am on Sunday: Angola, Mozambique, Malawi and Zambia.
He said he only found out "late last night" when contacted by the UK's Health Safety Agency.
