Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Sveçla met today with civil status officials of the municipalities of the Mitrovica region as well as MIA officials who are engaged in the implementation of the Law on Vehicles and the Law on Foreigners.
The MIA announcement states that special support teams have also been established to provide assistance regarding any uncertainties during the implementation of these laws.

"It has also been announced that, in order to facilitate the implementation of this process, the Ministry of Interior has established special support teams, which will provide assistance and clarifications for any uncertainties that may arise during the processing of requests, contributing to increasing the efficiency of administrative procedures," the Ministry of Interior's announcement states.
With the mediation of the EU, the Government has agreed to facilitate the implementation of the Law on Foreigners for the Serbian community. Based on this, students and workers will be offered a temporary residence permit for a period of 12 months. In addition, for a period of three months, the Government will recognize identification documents issued by parallel Serbian structures.
The law entered into force on Sunday, a day after the Government, at the request of the European Union, agreed to provide relief to Serbian citizens.
Meanwhile, KOHA sources have announced that more than 100 foreign citizens, most of whom are from Serbia, have registered their residence addresses in Kosovo, in accordance with the Law on Foreigners, by Tuesday afternoon.
