Shala calls the chairman of the Judicial Council blocking the work of the Appeal

Unlike other times, the meeting of the Judicial Council of Kosovo was accompanied by tensions.

The President of the Court of Appeal, Hasan Shala, has had harsh criticism of the KJC, with the claims that this council has not done anything concrete to advance the work in the institution that he leads.

The meeting of this council was held online, while the presidents of the courts reported in this meeting.

Shala initially complained about the number of judges in the Civil Division. The accusations continued with how the judges of the Serious Crimes Department and the Special Department do not even have cases to handle, while all the investments of the KJC are going to these two departments.

"The Judicial Council reacts where it should not at all, for example the case was when with the special department where there was no land, where for 3 months, you saw the statistics for 3 months, 10 cases were closed. 6 judges are that they don't complete even half of the cases per month, and that's where you intervened. What's even worse, the greatest shame of this Council is when you announce a competition for an internal associate in the Special Department", said Shala.

Shala has called the leader Çoçaj blocking the work of the institution he leads.

"There are no excuses. Reasoning is when the Lord works. In fact, I am talking about the Court of Appeal, I am not interested in other courts. For the Court of Appeal, you are an obstacle. Just you personally and a few others there. I have three members of the Council there, and I never believe that they talk about the problems of the Court of Appeal. Kon is represented by them", declared Shala.

Çocaj replied that they are not there to debate, but was further challenged by Shala. Then the chairman stated that they have taken into account what the chairman of the Appeal is asking.

"Okay, President, okay, last year you are aware that there were obstacles, now we have all these things that you asked for and I believe that they will announce the competitions very soon", said Çoçaj.
