Goal: Albania should not propose policies for Kosovo without consulting Kurti

The former president of Albania, Ilir Meta, said that Albania can help with the situation created in Kosovo, only through direct and constructive communication with the institutions of Kosovo and Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

According to Meta, the Government of Albania should not speak or propose policies that should be implemented within Kosovo without first consulting Kurti and the legitimate institutions in Kosovo.

"The Association of Municipalities is an agreement already accepted by the current government of Kosovo, and it is guaranteed in the Brussels Agreement and the Annex to the Ohrid Agreement, carried out with the support and negotiation of the European Union and the United States of America. The solution to how the Association will be achieved is therefore found in the respect of the Brussels and Ohrid Agreement. Mr. Kurti has constantly shown responsibility and unwavering will for the implementation of the Ohrid Agreement. While at Mr. Vucic has never seen such a thing, on the contrary, a series of his actions have demonstrated the opposite", he wrote on Facebook.

Meta added that if the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, wanted to play a role in this situation, he could ask Belgrade to sign the Brussels and Ohrid agreements and their implementation, the recognition of Kosovo by Serbia, as and abandoning the strategy of continuous tension of the situation.
