Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has received a letter of congratulations from the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Andy Burnham, who emphasized the long-standing partnership between the two countries and British support for Kosovo's development.
In his letter, Burnham recalled that the United Kingdom was among the first countries to recognize Kosovo's independence, expressing pride in this decision and reaffirming support for Kosovo as a sovereign, independent and multi-ethnic state.
"We are proud to have been among the first countries to recognize Kosovo's independence. We remain steadfast supporters of Kosovo's continued development as a sovereign, independent, and multiethnic state, and we highly value our continued cooperation in promoting stability and security in Europe," Burnham wrote.
He also stressed that the United Kingdom will continue its commitment to promoting regional stability, underlining the importance of international justice, accountability and the rule of law as essential elements for achieving lasting reconciliation.
At the end of the letter, the British Prime Minister expressed his willingness to cooperate with Kurti in addressing Europe's challenges and expanding the partnership between the two countries.
"I look forward to working with you to address some of Europe's greatest challenges, as well as to expand our excellent cooperation and mutually beneficial partnership in areas of common interest, from strengthening our economies to fighting serious organized crime," Burnham concluded.
