Haradinaj is not even persuaded by the Progress Report to remove the tax

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, has received the Annual Report of the European Commission, from Nataliya Apostolova, the Representative of the European Union in Kosovo.

In a press conference, Haradinaj said that this report for 2019 has mixed findings, as he emphasized that the tax on Serbian and Bosnian goods is criticized. But he added that he will not remove the tax, without meeting the request for recognition from Serbia.

"Today we will not do the actual analysis, but in the coming week we will invite the interministerial council to do an analysis of all the findings so that we can do homework based on these findings. It is a report with mixed findings. In certain cases there is a positive assessment of the progress, in other cases there is criticism, for example about the tax and this criticism accompanies it in general, but nevertheless in the assessment it confirms the findings of the achievements and the setbacks and challenges that Kosovo has", he said. "We have welcomed the commitment of world leaders. We think it is time for both Serbia and Kosovo to declare if they are ready for recognition, all topics would be resolved, including taxes. If there is no readiness for mutual recognition in the existing borders, we will continue with the existing situation, without changes to the tax".

On the other hand, Apostolova emphasized that the report is critical of the large Government, the large number of ministers and deputy ministers.

For this, Haradinaj said that it is a matter of days that the Government Law is expected to regulate this point.
