Alliance MP, Besnik Tahiri, has assessed that the Government led by Albin Kurti is not stable despite having 62 MPs in the Assembly who support him.
According to him, close parliamentary support makes the prime minister face constant demands from MPs, including those from non-majority communities, who, according to Tahiri, are seeking more ministerial positions.
Speaking about the functioning of the government, Tahiri said that Kurti is not in a comfortable position, as the majority of 61 MPs means that each of them may have separate demands.
"Kurti is not comfortable. He does not have all the numbers, he has 61 deputies, governing with 61 votes is governing with 61 prime ministers, because each one has a request. He has already started making requests," Tahiri declared on Thursday on KTV's "Interaktiv".
Tahiri said that Kurti and the Vetevendosje Movement must understand that achieving great results requires cooperation with political partners and a broader team.
He has also criticized the current composition of the government cabinet, describing the ministers as among the weakest.
"Kurti must understand that in order to achieve something great, it must be done with a partner. I'm not saying with the Alliance, I'm not looking for a coalition. We have actually had a firm stance. We think that this governing concept as it is now, with this team of ministers, are among the weakest ministers," he stressed.
Tahiri also spoke about the state of the opposition, saying that he is not satisfied with the way it is functioning, neither in the past nor during recent political developments.
However, he expressed hope that the Progress Report could serve as a momentum for opposition unity.
"Violation, subversion, non-respect, trust is irresponsibility. I am not satisfied with how the opposition is functioning, nor have I been satisfied in the past, nor was I satisfied in February when we were supposed to establish the opposition government, it did not happen. I am talking about last February. We went to the elections, what did we go to the elections for? We came to the elections, it is known that the electorate does not change so quickly. PDK is not in an easy situation. LDK also has electoral processes now. I am hoping that we have a good momentum with the Progress Report. We have discussed the three parliamentary groups and I believe that next week we will have a substantive debate with 40 signatures and this is the first start of the opposition's unification if we manage to go with 40 signatures", he said.
