The Albanian Alliance expects to go to the runoff in Gracanica

The Deputy Mayor of Graçanica, Leutrim Ajeti, believes that the Albanian Alliance initiative has a real chance of making it to the runoff.

On Thursday on KTV's "Interaktiv", Ajeti, who is also a candidate of this initiative for mayor of Gracanica, said that he sees the race as close with the Serbian List, which has led the municipality for the past four years.

"We have a comprehensive agreement. Initially, we talked with the central level that we are in talks to reach an agreement, they told us to continue and they agreed with our decisions that we have taken from this agreement. It has come this far as a result of previous attempts. The Serbian List is competing with a candidate and so is Nenad Rašić's party. I think we have a real chance of going to the runoff," he said.

Ajeti added that they were open to all communities sending their candidates, but no one has announced any candidates.

"I believe that we will represent the Albanian community, but also other communities, in the best possible way. First of all, cooperation with the central level is needed, without cooperation with the central level we cannot push major projects forward," he further emphasized.

The largest Albanian parties have decided to come together on a single list in the municipal election race in Gracanica.

The Vetevendosje Movement, the Democratic League of Kosovo, the Democratic Party of Kosovo, and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo will compete with the Albanian Alliance initiative.
