The Central Election Commission (Central Election Commission of Kosovo) has announced that activities related to the early elections for the Assembly of Kosovo, held on June 7, 2026, are continuing at the Counting and Results Center.

According to data published on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at 09:00, 36 ballot boxes were counted, while a total of 156 ballot boxes were registered and prepared that will be included in the results platform as the evaluation process continues.

According to the CEC, the process of evaluating ballot packages from the diaspora is dynamic and takes place in parallel with the updating of the results, with the aim of ensuring transparency and real-time information to the public. Voting by mail took place from May 21 to June 6, 2026, while around 105 thousand citizens of Kosovo were registered to vote in this way.

Meanwhile, at the center of the process of evaluating packages received from the diaspora, the CEC announced that by the end of the day on Saturday, June 13, 2026, a total of 75,590 packages had been processed. Of these, 72,746 were approved, while 2,844 were rejected.

The main reason for rejection of postal ballots is the lack of a registration receipt, which was recorded in 2,571 cases. This receipt contains unique voter data and is issued by the CEC during the registration process.

In addition, other reasons for rejection were also identified, including cases where more than one ballot or more than one person was found in a package (177 cases), when the voter sent the package from a country other than the one where he/she was registered (21 cases), when only a receipt without a ballot was found in the package (27 cases), as well as cases with a missing stamp or postmark (5 cases). One case where the ballot was printed was also identified, as well as 42 envelopes sent incorrectly.

The CEC has announced that the withdrawal of ballot packages from 23 mailboxes in 22 different countries, including Kosovo, was completed on June 8, 2026. Over 85,700 alleged ballot packages were withdrawn from this process, which are currently in various stages of evaluation and processing.
