Florin Krasniqi from the Social Democratic Party has criticized the Vetëvendosje Movement and its governing policies, saying that they have contributed to the weakening of the middle class in Kosovo.

He stated that, although he was one of the founders of VV, he did not think that the entity would pursue such policies.

"I am one of the founders of VV, I do not regret having helped establish VV. I knew it would not be perfect, but I never, ever would have thought that VV, for which I had given my life, would create such policies," said Krasniqi.

According to him, a functional government must have policies that strengthen the middle class, as he said that it is the foundation that sustains the state and society.

"A genuine policy of a genuine government takes all the measures, pre-measures, legal decisions, parliament, laws, to strengthen the middle class, the state, society is held by the middle class, not even the capitalists. The middle class in Kosovo is disappearing thanks to the VV," he said.

Krasniqi has accused VV of having influenced the concentration of capital and the growth of the poor stratum of the population.

"They have consciously oriented all these policies... dictatorial regimes do this, they concentrate capital... all the policies that VV has made have gone towards this division. They have increased the low mass of the population to buy their votes cheaper, this year they are buying 100, after 4 years they will buy 20 because people are getting poorer", he declared.

Krasniqi further criticized the Vetëvendosje government for family employment.

"We used to say nepotism, but PDK was nothing like what these people were. The PDK that we used to curse day and night was a flower, but I would have shot the LDK in the head, but I have never seen such nepotism. All the activists who remained in VV in Peja have high positions," he said.

Candidate for MP from the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Durim Halilaj, has said that the Kurti Government's figures show failure in the field of the economy.

He said that during the Kurti government's mandate, there was no strategic investment and no large company came to invest millions.

"All the numbers we heard are showing failure. A policy that was not market-oriented. An irrationally distributed budget. For five years we have not had any strategic investment, no large company has come to invest millions of euros due to uncertainty. A government that shows that it continuously produces crises, we also have problems with the law on strategic investments," said Halilaj.

He said that 90 percent of Kosovo's money goes to countries in the region or the world, while production has stopped.

Eman Rrahmani

Candidate for MP from the Democratic Party of Kosovo list, Eman Rrahmani, has said that the measures that the Kurti Government has imposed on the economy are measures that mainly "blackmail businesses."

Rrahmani said in "Elections in the Time" that the actions taken by the Vetëvendosje Movement are actions that have negatively affected the economy and actions that are endangering the economy, especially the private sector.

"The actions are endangering the economy, especially in the private sector, businesses that operate with difficulty, many of them have serious problems with continuing work, especially manufacturing companies, due to the punitive measures that have been taken against them. Even in the legal aspect, the goal has been to blackmail, threaten and block, mainly manufacturing businesses, especially through the transition to the free energy market," said Rrahmani.

He said that it is known that the main cost of each producer is energy.

He mentioned a case where two days ago he said he had visited two businesses in Kaçanik, who informed him that they had to lay off about 250 workers due to the inability to continue production due to the high cost of energy.

He said that the Kurti Government has not taken any relief measures for the economy.

"Everything they have done has been done with populist policies and decisions, which were made during the campaign," said Rrahmani.

Hekuran Gashi, a candidate for MP from the Vetevendosje Movement, said that the gross domestic product in Kosovo has increased by about 46 percent during the nearly 6 years that the Vetevendosje Movement has been in power.

Gashi also said in "Elections in Time" that unemployment has dropped from 22.85 percent to 10.8 percent.

"We managed to achieve an increase of 6.77 billion euros, economic growth of the gross domestic product. From the 7.05 billion euros that we found in 2019, we increased it to 10.3 billion and then to 11 billion in 2025. This means an increase of 46 percent compared to before we took power. It is the main indicator of economic growth. As for employment, we found it with about 350 thousand employees and the figures for 2025 are somewhere around 430 thousand employees. Unemployment has decreased from 22.85 percent to 10.8 percent," said Gashi.

Among the projects, which he says have had a direct impact on the economy, is "Superpuna".

"Around 20 young people were employed and subsidized by the state with a salary for 3 months. Of which 49 percent continued working," said Gashi.
