Former Vetëvendosje MP Arbreshë Kryeziu-Hyseni has stated that if Vjosa Osmani's name is put up for a vote for another term, she will not have her support if she is re-elected by the people.
She assessed that despite the fact that the result places the party with which Osmani competed in third place, the latter continues to aspire to the position of president.
"It is irrational and surprising how Mrs. Osmani, after all this political debacle, comes out and declares that she must be President. You told the citizens that you enjoy universal support, but the people spoke differently. You came third and did not receive the support you claimed... Since you continue to insist despite the result, I want to make my position clear. Even if your name comes up for a vote, you will not have my support if I am again a member of the Assembly," Kryeziu-Hyseni wrote on Facebook.
She further accused Osmani, saying that because of her insistence, the country was forced to hold elections.
Another former MP from this party, Adriana Matoshi, has also publicly stated that she will not support Osmani for president if he is elected for another term in the Assembly.
"She comes in third, she loses outright, and even before the counting is over, she came out and told us that she should definitely be President... If I am elected MP, I publicly declare that I will not vote for you for president. Is it easier for you now," she wrote.
