The CEC decides to recount 185 polling stations

Counting the results

The Central Election Commission has managed to complete, within 10 days, the process of counting all ballots for the early elections for the Assembly of Kosovo, held on June 7.

The last ballots counted on Wednesday were for postal voting outside Kosovo and conditional voting, as well as for persons with special needs. On the same day, in order to verify accuracy, the CEC decided to recount 185 polling stations, whose ballots were previously counted at the Municipal Counting Centers.

CEC spokesperson Valmir Elezi said in a press conference that if there are no complaints within 48 hours regarding the administration of the count from the last day, then the CEC will announce these results.

Elezi indicated that on Wednesday, the CEC held an electronic meeting, where it decided to recount 185 regular polling stations, whose ballots were previously counted at the Municipal Centers.

"Also, today during the day, the Central Election Commission has decided to recount the ballots of 185 regular polling stations, which were previously counted in the Municipal Counting Centers. This number constitutes 7.41% of the polling stations out of a total of 2,498 regular polling stations in which voting took place on June 7, 2026. This control measure was taken by the CEC to address the problems identified in some of the Municipal Counting Centers during the counting of votes of candidates for deputies from the December elections of last year and aims to ensure that the counting was carried out accurately," said Elezi.
