The Central Election Commission held an electronic meeting on Wednesday, where it decided that voters registered to vote in diplomatic missions outside Kosovo would be allowed to vote with expired Kosovo identification documents.

"This decision by the CEC comes after the identification of several cases during the voting process in diplomatic missions in the past elections for the Assembly of Kosovo, held on February 8, 2025 and December 27, 2025, where some voters presented themselves with expired identification documents. After being notified of these cases, the CEC has made a decision to allow voting with expired identification documents," the CEC announced.
The decision was also made to approve the operational plan for election day, June 7.

"This plan defines the organization, coordination and responsibilities of officials engaged in the administration of the electoral process inside and outside the country. The document describes activities related to the preparation and functioning of Voting Centers, the distribution of electoral materials, institutional communication, reporting of participation and preliminary results, as well as the management of operational situations during election day. The plan also provides for the functioning of operational rooms for coordination and support, cooperation with institutions responsible for security, electricity and technical support, and defines the teams and officials responsible for informing voters, communicating with the media, logistical support, information technology, verification of observers and other tasks necessary to guarantee an electoral process", the CEC announced.
