The Basic Prosecution Office in Peja has requested detention for two people arrested on Sunday in the context of the electoral process.
According to the Prosecution, the suspects are suspected of having committed the criminal offense of "Receiving or giving a bribe in connection with voting."
Based on initial suspicions, the alleged acts were committed in the village of Gorazhdevc in the municipality of Peja, after which the suspects were arrested by the Kosovo Police.
The Prosecutor's Office has announced that, in coordination with the competent law enforcement bodies, it will continue to take all necessary investigative actions in order to fully clarify the case and secure relevant evidence.
The announcement states that the institution remains committed to protecting the integrity of the electoral process, preserving the free vote of citizens, and enforcing the law against anyone who violates democratic processes in its jurisdiction.
The competent court is expected to decide on the Prosecution's request for detention.
