The leader and candidate for prime minister of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Bedri Hamza, has presented the fourth commitment of his governing program for reform and modernization of the education system, skills for the future and opportunities for young people.

Hamza, in a press conference, stated that a quality education system empowers citizens, builds competitive economies and sustainable institutions, therefore, the PDK-led government will treat this sector as a national priority.

"Education is not an expense. Education is the safest investment a country can make for its future. Therefore, on June 7, we ask for the trust of citizens to build a modern, qualitative and competitive education system, which gives our children and young people the knowledge, skills and opportunities they deserve. Because the change of Kosovo begins with the education of the generation that will build the Kosovo of tomorrow," said the PDK leader.

Hamza, underlining the challenges faced by teachers and students, has shown that at the center of his vision for education is the youth of Kosovo.

He promised a Scholarship Fund of 30 million euros per year and study programs that guarantee employment opportunities, so that young people can build their lives and careers in Kosovo.

"The PDK government will strengthen university autonomy, support scientific research and expand international cooperation with the most prestigious European and world universities. We want universities that not only award degrees, but also produce knowledge, innovation and solutions for the development of the country. In this regard, we will also establish the Student Scholarship Fund. For the first time, we will create the Student Scholarship Fund worth 30 million euros per year. This fund will guarantee direct support for students, regardless of their economic or social situation. Investing in our students is an investment in the most precious capital of Kosovo, in its citizens. Another area where we will focus is informal education and youth creativity," Hamza promised.

He added that one of the priorities PDK's goal is also the modernization of vocational education and its direct connection to the needs of the economy.

“Vocational schools will be equipped with modern infrastructure, while businesses will be actively involved in the process of practical education of students. Our goal is clear: more professional skills, more jobs and more opportunities for young people to build their careers in Kosovo”, said Hamza. “Wherever we have been, we have felt the energy of citizens for change. We have felt their desire to end the crisis, to restore hope and to build a Kosovo with more opportunities for all. Therefore, today I want to invite all citizens to join us in our closing rally, on Saturday, June 6, from 20:00 PM, at Skanderbeg Square in Pristina. Let us conclude this journey together with a clear message: Kosovo deserves more. And, Kosovo will change. We will change it”.
